Tarcoles Crocodile tour and Canopy Vista de los Sueños

Pick up will be at 8:00am. This tour combines an educational ride along the Tarcoles River with a zipline adventure through the forest canopy, a combination that highlights two Costa Rica environments in one day. Look out for animals like crocodiles, macaws, and lizards as you float along the river, and then soar with birds and monkeys on an 11-platform zipline course.

The Tarcoles is full of crocodiles, scarlet macaws, Jesus Christ lizards, and over 120 species of birds. Then we glide along this placid river with our naturalist guide, who describes the birds, animals, and habitat in great detail. After visiting the river mouth, we venture up a mature mangrove area, where we stop to learn about this remarkable ecosystem. Return upstream to the native botanic garden, where your guide explains more about the native plant species of this transitional habitat

This half-day, educational tour is designed for you to experience, photograph, and learn about the native wildlife. The lush rain forest feeling will be part of your scenic one-hour drive from the pier to a private reserve. Along the way, your guide will point out mango, sugar and citrus plantations and farming communities.

After all this, our next stop will be on Vista de los Sueños, This tour is designed not only as an extreme adventure, but a way to enjoy nature without harming the environment. Our property boasts spectacular views of Herradura Bay and Island, and the Nicoya Gulf. Within the property, you will to see scarlet macaws, chestnut mandible toucans and whiteface monkeys in their natural environment. This property has 80 acres of land and 50% is protected by the government institution FONAFIFO. The adventure starts on a 15-minute ride aboard our specially designed tractor.

Once we reach the top of the mountain, our bilingual guides will explain -step by step- all the safety procedures you must follow to enjoy your Zip Line adventure, we then descend to the bottom via a series of zip lines, including 12 platforms and 10 cables with a total cable distance of 3.5 kilometers, among them longest cable in the area (2400 ft.) at the end we will greet you with fresh tropical fruits and cool water. Along the way our professional photographers will capture the best pictures of your adventure, and will have them available for purchase at the end of the tour.
